Fritzi is leaving

Logo Design, UI Design, Type Design, Audio Design, Narrative Design

«Fritzi is leaving» is a coming of age, slice of life 2D narrative game built in Unity.

The game was created over the course of three months at Cologne Game Lab. I filled in as the role of Game Designer and contributed the level design, writing, audio design, UI and logo design. I was also responsible for the project lead.

It is an introspective story about a young person leaving their hometown for a the first time for an extended period of time. The player can talk to Fritzi’s relatives and friends before heading off. Depending on the dialogue choices they will show up on the platform and say goodbye. As an additional mechanic the player can take photographs at significant locations.

All the dialogue is displayed in «Fritzi Serif» as the font perfectly captures the intimacy and tradition of the small town Fritzi lives in but also its modern non-conformist touch.

The logo also uses the font and features the polaroid frame that plays an important role inside the game.

The game is available for Mac/PC on itch.io.
